소식(消息)

영하 10도 부근을 오르내리는
어둡고 긴 겨울을
깊은 땅 속에서
깊은 나뭇가지 살 속에서
눈을 뜨고 봄을 기다리는
맑은 싹들의 생기를 생각하며
차가운 물로 세수를 하노라면
문득
돌아가신 어머님 생각
그분은 늘 그렇게
찬물로
긴 겨울을 씻어내셨던 것이 아닌가

하얀 옷으로
하얀 손으로
하얀 사랑으로.
