   천리 물결

   I open the envelope:
      Waves break on the shore,
      Seagulls cry.

    I open the envelope:
      Camellias bloom
      Along a thousand li
      Of southern waters.

    My heart catches in my throat.

    I open the envelope:
       Your breath
       Has the smell of the sea,
       And your voice rides
       A distant wind.

    And there's news, news.
    Seagulls cry.
