수명에 한도가 있는 육체
안에
삶과 죽음을 한 몸으로 동거시켜
잠시 불을 밝히고 있는
이 가숙(假宿)
작별을 하며
헤어지는 연습을 하며
항상 떠나는 생각
속으로 속으로
그 오늘을 산다
삶과 죽음을 품고
죽음은 삶을 키워
한 몸으로 동행을 하는 거
동행하다 그 몸 허물어지면
그뿐
그곳에서 헤어지는 거
육체는 사그러지며
불은 꺼진다
욕망은 땅에
포기는 하늘에
삶과 죽음, 서로 작별할
보이는 세상
보이지 않는 생각
그 길목
그 곳에서 나는 바람이지
삶과 죽음
한 몸에
동거하는 이 가숙(假宿)

Flesh bound by living limits
And in it
Life and death, one body together,
A shelter
Where fires momentarily redden.
Always the thought of leaving,
Of separating
And preparing to depart,
Inside, driving inside
As we live that particular today.
Life clasps death in its arms;
Death rears life.
Life and death travel in one body
And should body collapse,
That's it:
Separation there and then.
Flesh subsides.
Fires go out.
Desire on earth,
Resignation in heaven.
Life and death part
Like a breeze that blows
On the corner
Between this seen world
And the unseen.
Life and death
In one body,
This shelter where they live together.
